The Death Star was the code name of an unspeakably powerful and horrific weapon developed by the Empire. The immense space station carried a weapon capable of destroying entire planets. The Death Star was to be an instrument of terror, meant to cow treasonous worlds with the threat of annihilation. While the massive station is evidence of the evil that was the Galactic Empire, it was also proof of the New Order's greatest weakness -- the belief that technology and terror were superior to the will of oppressed beings fighting for freedom.

The Death Star was a battle station the size of a small moon. It had a formidable array of turbolasers and tractor beam projectors, giving it the firepower of greater than half the Imperial starfleet. Within its cavernous interior were legions of Imperial troops and fighter craft, as well as all manner of detention blocks and interrogation cells. The Death Star was spherical, and dark gray in colour. Located on the Death Star's northern hemisphere was a concave disk housing the station's main laser weapon.

We all know what happened to the Death Star in the end…..

The Rebel Alliance boldly launched its available starfighter forces against the station. The Imperials were so confident in the Death Star's might that they never considered the Rebel fighters a viable threat. After all, the station was designed to withstand a full frontal assault from large capital ships. At first, the Empire didn't even launch TIE fighters to counter the attack.

With the aid of Hans Solo, the spirit of Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the power of the Force, Luke Skywalker was able to successfully hit the small target, and triggered the Death Star's demise.

It appears that life imitates art once again.

OK - I've got the Star Wars boxed sets and can see where you are going. Perhaps Simon Hill of TFB, Phil Snee of Linetime, David McNamara of SOS and Simon Meehan of AlphaLaw can argue among themselves who gets to wear the Hans Solo, Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca and Yoda costumes. But, what I want to know is: who is the Princess Leia of the legal IT world's rebel alliance?

I'd vote for Vin Murria but she's cut and run. How about Arlene...

If Arlene is a member of the Empire, she can't be Princess Leia as she was a member of the Rebel Alliance. Do try to keep up please. Maybe we could co-opt Sally Bellwood or Jan Durant?

Taking the analogy futher; the Rebel Alliance only had outdated and old equipment, and were completely outclassed by the Imperials superior technology.

The Rebels best commander was a fish, and their generals were ex-smugglers and gamblers.

And; at the end of the day, the Imperials were much much cooler than the Rebel Alliance in almost every way.

who won in the end though?

We just made the mistake of being cute and cuddly whilst thinking that technology was a god, well at least C-3PO.

We are also quite good friends with Princess Leia who is easier on the eye than Darth Vadar.

How come you are hijacking a thread about Starwars with a rant about Iris?

I note that they are adding another 1000 users but will they be happy, expectant, excited, fulfilled users or, based on the SSG and current trading, I wonder how long it will take them to realise the Iris way and become unhappy, unsatisfied, disilusioned and up a dead end!

Rebel alliance WINS the Empire LOSES - it's not a difficult story to follow people.

I guess if you are part of the Empire you don't have much choice but to pretend you like the outfit so to speak. As for the superior weapons I guess that's true in theory but they can never get them all together (sound familiar) - overall the rebels get the biggest bangs when it comes to the Empires assets getting a whacking - read Death Star etc.

In exchange for a sizable fee, Jango would become the template of a clone army. Fett agreed, but with an unusual stipulation in his contract. In addition to his fee, he would be awarded an unaltered clone of himself. Unlike his other duplicates, this clone would not undergo growth acceleration or docility tampering. It would be a pure replica of Jango.

The Kaminoans provided Fett with private accommodations in their hermetic Tipoca City, and Jango dropped out of the bounty hunting limelight. He concentrated on teaching his son, the unaltered clone he named Boba, the ropes of survival and combat while the Kaminoans extracted genetic material to build thousands of clone soldiers.

I'll leave it to others to suggest who is who in this story.
